a Tyni Fairy Tale
My friendship with Megan began during our undergrad. I had the privilege of getting to know Megan through the world of being Delta Zeta presidents. Many nights, we would be up on the phone talking, elongating car rides so that we could continue our deep conversations and discussions of our shared love for taking aggression out on the soccer field. Never would I imagine that some moons later, I would be coordinating the wedding between her and her high school sweetheart, Travis. I had many years of getting to know both of them, together and individually, and I wholeheartedly believe that these two are soulmates. They are so lucky to have found each other at thirteen years old.
At the time of the proposal, Megan was a busy bee working on her teaching credential and master’s program, so she left all of the wedding planning to her mother and me. Imagine this: Two people you know very well, hand over their budget and want to just “walk into” their wedding day. I was given her complete trust to seek and book all vendors and to plan everything with Momma Tyni through to completion. Obviously, the pressure was on, but it was the most enjoyable journey for me, as the planner, and I was confident that I knew what would make their special day perfect. Talk about your DREAM clients!!!!
Megan and Travis tied the knot with an outdoor ceremony at the elegant yet rustic Camarillo Ranch in Camarillo, CA in view of their closest family and friends. The ceremony was followed by extremely groovy moves on the dance floor, delicious food and sweets, and a hidden Mickey or two. This was truly one of the most enjoyable experiences of my professional career. It was such a special honor to organize this day for them and to watch the sparkle in both Megan and Travis’s eyes and the intimacy they shared on their day. Quite frankly… I think I nailed it.
