It feels just like yesterday, meeting Jenna at sorority recruitment during our freshman year of college and our little 18-year-old selves “preffing” the same house. Fate took a different turn, and we didn’t follow each other into the same house, but we remained good friends over the years. My favorite memory of Jenna was sneaking in a visit during nursing school on a girl’s weekend I had in Boston, just a few years ago. She was so relaxed, cool, and collected in her new city – a California girl at heart, but I knew Boston stole her forevermore. The day J got engaged, our friends and I facetimed her to congratulate the happy couple on the big news. We all knew she was head over heels for the man that put a ring on it. And I couldn’t be happier for this shining star of a human!
Shortly after the engagement, I’m presented the greatest opportunity… to be the wedding coordinator for her wedding! Let the wedding planning commence! A couple of WEEKS roll by, and Jenna came back to visit LA – we met over drinks and to swoon over her ring! And of course, discuss about the wedding because I know a thing or two. During our conversation, she expressed how she wanted to get married later this year. Mind you – this was April 2021, and she is referring to Fall 2021. With RONA still in existence and the idea of big events honestly being unknown, I told her she was wishful and certainly wasn’t feeding her the positive kool-aid. But goodness, my Jenna was dead set on getting hitched in the Fall so… I sent some e-mails out.
During this trip in LA, Jenna toured venues and booked one (that little go-getter). She got back to Boston, facetimed me with her fiancé, who I was just meeting for the first time, and they asked all the wedding questions. Before I knew it, I was planning this wedding with my cutie of a friend that was just a few months away.
Jenna had a vision for her wedding – so different than anyone else’s I have ever known. She wanted to embrace simplicity, she wanted modern, and she saw it clear as day. Jenna got it all – she got it in the most elegant and stunning way possible.
It was a beautiful day to celebrate a gorgeous couple in the California sunshine. I am beyond happy that my friend is now married to the love of her life.
I cannot wait to share pictures from this special day (not yet available and soon to come). Cheers to Jenna & Josh! Thank you for choosing me to be a part of the journey and very special day.
