I had a blast coordinating Chelsea and Brian’s beautiful winter wedding in La Jolla, CA. Chelsea and Brian were referred to me by my previous clients – Lauren and Patrick. Brian was a baseball player throughout college, and he and Patrick played together both at UCLA and in the Major Leagues, too. Similar to Lauren and Patrick, Chelsea and Brian had been together many years and were high school sweethearts, and Brian had been welcomed into Chelsea’s family with open arms, especially by Chelsea’s two amazing sisters, who I got to know very well through the planning process. Chelsea’s entire family (but especially her sisters) were over the moon to bring Brian into the family, as they have considered Brian to be a brother for as long as they can remember.
Chelsea had such a vision for her wedding day. I really loved and admired her style – she knew exactly what she wanted! Despite being a winter wedding, Chelsea’s style had such warmth and it was all in the details – from the gold charger plates to the mismatched taupe and off-white bridesmaid dresses, to the twinkle lights and massive “The Carrolls” sign at the reception. However, it wasn’t all elegance and grace! There was a bit of fun and playfulness mixed in, too. Chelsea started the trend of having the bridesmaids wear leather jackets. And, as if it couldn’t get any better, at the end of the night, Chelsea and Brian had their favorite thing, Taco Bell brought out to all their guests on PLATTERS! My assistant ran to the closest Taco Bell, grabbed 60 tacos, bean and cheese burritos, and a large quantity of mild, medium, and hot sauces. Before the photographer left, my assistant and I went onstage and threw tacos and burritos out to everyone. It was a funny and authentic way to end the night!
Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Carroll!
