Fate brought this Michigan girl and California boy together to meet in Switzerland, where they literally “fell” in love on a skydiving expedition.  I can’t think of a better meet / cutest story: finding each other halfway around the world, jumping out of a plane, and actually leaving this trip with a future together. COME ON.  Isn’t that what marriage is?  The most beautiful leap of faith, of them all.

With their wedding in Napa being destination, we formed a special relationship where I got to know these two on a deeper level through our process.  Adding the component of traveling together, it sure brings more opportunities for conversations beyond just this wedding business. Over the course of our planning, we built a friendship and trust that came in handy when navigating the important decisions that certainly pop-up during the planning process, through the release of fully-trusted responsibility to me, on the day-of. This relationship building is a huge part of the job – and I was so honored to get this journey with these two; but boy, does it sure make things harder when they graduate – become married, and leave the nest, once its all through (because I miss working with them so much already!)

Although my mind is filled with a million beautiful memories from their wedding weekend, my favorite is the multitude of Dan’s family.  He told me countless times that he had a huge family, and I hear this time and time again in the wedding process. Part of me was thinking, “sure – ya, its big, got it”. Once we were to the weekend, I was genuinely blown away by how big a family this family really was, and how powerful the presence of so much love, can make the memory of this weekend – unbelievably beautiful. People have lives and can’t always stop their lives to travel to a wedding for people they love; life happens and things come up. But to see them ALL really show up and enjoy thoroughly, truly truly truly remarkable. They brought a noteworthy closeness to the celebration, and by the end we were all family. Also – we’re talking like…. 160-175 family members, just so you can get an idea of the multitude here!

I am so lucky to have joined Mackenzie and Dan on their official jump into forever together – what an incredibly fun and exciting ‘jump’ it was… yes – pun intended with the ‘jump’. So honored to have been apart of the journey, and congratulations to Mr & Mrs Di Tomaso!
